Everyday is a good day to start something new!
About
Hello, I’m Dana Krakow, LPC, and I help people heal from trauma, manage overwhelming emotions, and reconnect with a sense of self. With more than 20 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults, I offer a calm, supportive space where you can explore what you’re going through without judgment or pressure.
You may be here because you’ve experienced trauma, feel stuck in painful patterns, or find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, or mood changes. Maybe you’ve tried to “push through” on your own, but the symptoms keep resurfacing. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to help you make sense of what’s happening and find a path toward healing.
My Approach
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, compassionate, and individualized approach. I specialize in treatment for acute, chronic, and complex trauma, including experiences related to:
Accidents or medical trauma
Acts of violence
Domestic violence
Childhood abuse or neglect
Loss of a loved one
Alongside trauma care, I also support and treat individuals dealing with:
Anxiety and depression
Bipolar and mood disorders
ADHD
PTSD and BPD
Self-harming behaviors
Suicidal ideation
Addictive behaviors
Psychotic disorders
I meet clients where they are and work collaboratively—at your pace—to build coping skills, reduce symptoms, and help you feel more grounded and empowered.
What You Can Expect
Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm energy, direct communication, and the sense of safety they feel in our sessions. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly, explore your experiences, and begin to heal without feeling overwhelmed.
Together, we will:
Clarify what’s happening internally
Develop tools to manage your emotions
Process difficult experiences safely
Build confidence, resilience, and self-understanding
Work toward meaningful, sustainable progress
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths, your stability, and your sense of who you are.
Getting Started
Whether you’re ready to begin therapy or just exploring your options, I welcome your questions. I’m happy to talk about what therapy might look like, how trauma treatment works, or what you can expect in the first session.
Reaching out can feel intimidating, but it can also be the first step toward feeling more in control and less alone. If you’re ready to start, I’m here to help.
